How To Go To Karimunjawa asked by my friends many times. I've been twice on last two year and i think dont come this year. I want write about all tips and trick about karimunjawa for backpacker and get there with cheapest room and rates. But, i think it will be separated on some artcile. So, the first post, i will write about how to go to karimunjawa island on Jepara, Jawa Tengah.
Sometimes the ship dont go when the weather is bad. So make sure that you came not on wind seasson. Or you will be trapped on Karimunjawa and can't go back to java island with the ship. But you can go by airplane with expensive rate but i think its worthed.
There are three ship that you can choose to Karimunjawa. They are Ferry Siginjay, Bahari Express, and Kartini. Three different ship with different schedule. I will explain every ship with the route. So read it carefully, okay?

Ferry Siginjay is cheapest and biggest ship to Karimunjawa, it takes about 4 - 5 hours to Karimunjawa from Jepara. In addition to passengers, the ship can also carry goods.
How to get ticket Ferry Siginjay? To get the ticket you must go to the port on early morning before the ship go. You can't book the ticket, the travel agent will be book on early morning too. The loket open at 05.30 AM. You only can buy ticket for ship that go on same date, go show ticket you know?

I suggest you to stay at the port on 06.00 AM, because the shcedule of the ship will be go at 07.00 but sometimes it will go berfore 07.00 because of weather.

How to Get Ticket Bahari Express 2C? You can buy on bahari express agent but i dont keep the contact. I've bad experience with super slow response from the agent. So i decide to buy ticket on the port directly, because i came on weekdays not in holiday seasson. You can book ticket from bahari express.
The locket open about 06.00 AM. And the ship departure at 09.00. But sometimes can be early at 07.00 because the weather. So you need to be prepared before it. Just go to port on early morning if you stay on hotel / guest house near the port to make sure about the weather.

Tips Before Go To Karimunjawa with Ship
Here some tips for you that want to visit Karimunjawa by ship.
- If you are choosing Ferry Siginjay, you need to standby on the loket at 05.00 AM. And you need to be stay at the port on 06.00. Sometimes the ship leave earlier when passenger of the ship full and weather condition.
- If you came to Karimunjawa on peak season you need to book Bahari Express or Kartini Ship before departure date. Because you can book before. But if you are looking for ticket Ferry Siginjay its not possible to get the ticket a day before.
- Make sure that you came to the port 2 hour before the ship leaving, sometimes the capt can re-schedule and leave earlier when the weather getting bad.
