Coloring objects in Blender

Coloring objects in Blender - Finally i got a Blender tutorial topics that i can write. Although this is a basic tutorial blender, I hope it can help beginners learn Blender. On this Blender Tutorials, we will learn how to make multiple color on object. The results of this tutorial looks like the picture below. Follow and understand the steps to create an object that has more than one color.

I choose Cube for example because it is simple and default Blender object. First, select the object that already exists, then select edit mode by pressing TAB key. In edit mode, your workspace will be looks like this

Then, open the material menu on the right side of Blender window / workspace. If you can't find it, see the picture below.

Figure 1 is a selected material slot. We can provide more than one material on an object by adding new material slots.

To add material slots, Press + key on the right side material slot then press + New to add materials.

Now, add 3 new materials and give name of material slot with the color name which we will use. For example, red, blue, and yellow. So material slot will look like picture below

Change the color of each material slot to the name of material that we have specified previously.

After 3 material slots have color that fits with its name, follow these steps;
  1. Change selection mode to face selction
  2. Selection one of the fields that we want to change its color
  3. Select one of material slot
  4. Press assign

Note: Default material slot from active object is a material that is on top.
Generally the concept of multiple color in Blender is:
  1. Selection face which want to be changed its colour
  2. Select material slot for coloring selected face
  3. Apply the material on the selected slot to object by pressing assign key.
