Where is Blitar? And How To Get There?

I've move from Surabaya last year and back to my hometown Blitar. I think, it will be good if i back and doing something for my hometown. Past two years, im interesting with traveling, im not interest with 3d animation anymore. So, when i back to Blitar, i think what i can do for my hometown.
Blitar is a small city in Jawa Timur, the popular landmark there is the grave of first Indonesian President, Ir. Soekarno and Penataran Temple. Its about 70km from Malang and about 167km from Surabaya.
Not many foreigner there, because you can't found many information about Blitar tourism. So, i decide to write about Blitar Tourism. I've create an instagram account called jelajahblitar then I create a blog called mblitar.net. Today the blog is using Bahasa Indonesia, but i have plan that mblitar.net will be available in english.
I use my spare time to build that website. I am looking arround interesting place in Blitar area then write about it on the blog. So the people can get information from my blog.
A month ago, i got call from my friend. She need people that can speak english to accompany the foreginer to go to Penataran Temple and Kelud Mountain. Im not tour guide, but if you need help feel free to ask.
On this post i want share about how to get to Blitar. So you can think again before going there. Blitar is best place for you that looking for place where deserted of foreigner tourists and many beautiful unexplored place.

How To Get To Blitar?
how to get to Blitar? There are some alternative route to get to Blitar. You can rent car then go Blitar, its easy. But, if you want to Blitar with public transport, here we go.
You can go to Blitar by Train or Bus. The name of train is Penataran and Dhoho. That train have different route. With Penataran Train you will go to Blitar through Malang, if you go with Dhoho you will through Jombang.
I prefer to use Penataran because offer beautiful scenery during the trip. Dhoho and Penataran is economy class with the AC, it takes about 5 hours to Blitar with ticket price about Rp. 15.000.

If you want faster route, you can go to Blitar by Patas Bus. The Patas Bus only from Bungurasih Bus Station. You need to take the Rukun Jaya Bus, its the only patas bus to Blitar. It takes about 4 hours and the ticket is Rp. 45.000. I think its the smallest patas bus.
You also can go with economy bus, but you need to go to Malang first with the bus and change the line on Malang Bus Station (Arjosari) to Blitar. Sometimes you need wait about an hour to get bus to Blitar from Malang.
If you come from Malang, you can go to Blitar by bus or Penataran Train. Sometimes you will be confuse about Penataran and Dhoho. Because the train totaly same but the route is different. So, to make sure that you're on right way please ask the officer on the train station.
If you came from Jogja, you can go to Blitar by Train, you can choose Malabar or Malioboro Express. I prefer Malioboro Express, because the main route of this train is Yogyakarta - Malang that pass Blitar before Malang. Its cheaper than Malabar. The route of Malabar Train is from Malang - Bandung two ways. Yogyakarta - Blitar is about 5 hours. You can choose economy, business and executive class on Malioboro Express. The ticket price about IDR 140.000 - IDR 300.000
