Have you read my last post about where is Blitar? How to get there? Its been 3 month after my last articles. So on this post. I want to continue the story about interesting places in Blitar.
I need to explain to you that Blitar have two administration, in Indonesia it called Kotamadya and Kabupaten. I hate it! Seriously! Because Kotamadya goverment and Kabupaten goverment not collaboration to make Blitar better place, they compete each other to prove which is better
On this post I want to write about the destination arround the Kotamadya region. Because the area of Kotamadya ist not too big. And have some interesting place that you can visit. Kotamadya can be called as Blitar Capital. Because the place in the middle of Blitar region. Here some destination that you can visit when visit Blitar

Have you ever heard the name of first Indonesia president Soekarno? The familiar name is Bung Karno. The Grave of Bung Karno being landmark in Blitar and located on the Kotamadya region and its about 3 kilometer from the Blitar train station. You also can visit Bung Karno gallery and national library in one area with the Bung Karno Tomb.

On the gallery you can see many documentation about bung karno when he is a president of Republic Indonesia. You can also see the magic paint of Bung Karno. If you look from side of the painting you can see that the heart still beat. I dont know how to make the heart beat on the painting. Because there is no trick behind the artwork, you can also check arround the painting but you can't touch it.
You can also read many book on the national library. There is a room filled with books about bung karno. You can read all book inside Bung Karno National library, but you can't borrow it. Because you only borrow and take it home if you are member of the national library. The requirements to become a member is Blitar resident.

If you are from the Bung Karno tombs, you can drive there by becak (traditional transportation with three wheels and pedaled like bycycle). Istana gebang or gebang palace is Bu Wardoyo house. She is Bung Karno sister.
You can found many oldstuff in Istana Gebang, some stuff belong to Bung Karno. This place treated by goverment. You didnt need to pay ticket to there but if you want, you can give donation. I do not know if this applies to foreign tourists. You know that sometimes foreigner tourist need to pay more expensive than local tourist.

Near istana gebang you can visit Kebonrojo. Its about 300 meters from Istana gebang. This is favourite place for the family on weekend. You can see a lot people there on weekend. This park have some animal such as birds, deer, monkey, and so much.
Playground for the kid and free enterance make this park crowded in during weekend. Sometimes some event held there.
