I've write about how to install svn Blender update on Ubuntu. Iam using cheleb blender ppa to update it. But, cheleb ppa now is offline, we can't update news svn build from this ppa. But new blender ppa with name irie now available for replace the cheleb ppa.

You can install Blender from Ubuntu 12.04 repository, but you just get Blender 2.62. In main site you can download Blender 2.63a stable release.  And you just can download portable Blender for Linux on the main site. But with the ppa we can download and install Blender on the system. You can open Blender file with clicking the blend file. Its different when you are using portable blender apps. You must open blender first and then open the blend file from the blender.

If you want to install Blender SVN update in your system, there is step by step to adding and install Blender through irie ppa.

• Open terminal with shortcut Ctrl Alt T
• Write

  sudo add-apt-repository ppa:irie/blender

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:irie/blender

• Write your root password
• Press enter when ppa information shown

ppa information

• Update the repository with

  sudo apt-get update

• After updating the repository you can download Blender with writing

  sudo apt-get install blender

I hope this ppa can support svn update for a long time, so this tutorial will be relevance for a long time too :lol.
