Create Realtime Texture on Blender - Texture Painting is Blender feature that can be used for create realtime texture with Blender. So, you don't need other software to create texture for your 3D object. But, Blender have limited brush right now. Texture painting recomended to create UV Projection texture. On this post, i want to share how to create texture with Blender Texture Paint.

I hope you have basic knowledge on Blender, if you don't, you must learn basic first. The first thing that we must do is Add Material on object. You can pick your favourite color on the object

With object still selected, go to edit mode (TAB) then mark seam on some edge that we will unwrap. To get mark seam menu, press CTRL E. The edge that you've mark seam will be red. So you will get preview look like this

After mark seam, go to UV Editing layout then select all vertex in object and unwrap it with press U > Unwrap. So, can see the unwrapped obect on UV Image Editor

Add New Image on UV Image editor, then press Ok.

Change mode to paint on UV Image Editor to start realtime texturing with Blender

Don't forget to change viewport shading on 3D view to textured. So, you can see realtime texture on the object that we paint on UV Image Editor.

Note: Lighting take effect on your realtime preview on 3D view. If you don't have any lighting, you will get black object without texture.

When you try to render the object, you don't get the texture that we have paint? If you don't get it, you missing one step. We don't adding the texture to the object. To adding texture following this step.

Texture Type: Image or Movie
Image: Name of image that we have textured on UV Image Editor.
Image Mapping Extension: Clip
Mapping Coordinate : UV

After finished the last step, try to render it again. You will get texture that you have paint on your 3D object. Good luck!
